I'm always fascinated with rainbows. Whenever I see a rainbow it brings a smile to my face. My toddler son loves it too. I thought making rainbow play dough will help him learn about different colours.

The dough will be good for tactile and sensory play too. So if you have little ones, you'll love this simple home made recipe.

All you need is 4 ingredients:

1 1/2 cups of plain flour

1/2 cup of table salt

1/2 cup of water

Assorted food colouring

Pipette (optional)

Step 4: Add a tiny drop of food colouring to the dough.

Step 5: Knead the dough gently making sure the colour is spread evenly. You can add more colour to make it darker. Repeat step 4 and 5 using different food colouring.

If you have limited food colouring, you can mix:

Yellow + Red = Orange

Blue + Green = Purple

Yellow + Blue = Green

Enjoy and don't forget to store the dough in an air tight container! At Craft Nation we love all things craft and have developed a range of educational craft kits for kids that you can shop here
