Craft Classes For Kids

Suitable for children aged 6-12 years old, CRAFT NATION workshops aim to help children build their confidence, creative thinking, fine motor skills and learn new skills.

The workshops focus on tactile and sensory learning. Children get to experience different activities from drawing, painting, sculpture making with clay and papier mache, collage, scratch art, string art, sand painting, costume design, making slime, origami, fluid art, decoupage and much more!

The workshop will be run by Emmy Lukito, who has a Diploma in Graphic Design from Northern Sydney Institute of TAFE and valid Working with Children check (WWC1125400E).

We are a registered Creative Kids provider.

Parents, guardians and carers can apply for a voucher with a value of up to $100 per calendar year for each student aged 4.5 to 18 years old enrolled in school.

WORKSHOPS

EGYPTIAN BOOK BOX

Date: To be confirmed 

Duration: 2 hours

Time: 10.00am - 12.00pm

In this workshop, your teacher will guide you and demonstrate the step by step process in making and designing an Egyptian book box. 

During the workshop, you will trace, emboss, colour and glue the Egyptian design cover to the book box. You will need to bring your own coloured markers, ruler, pencil and scissors. You will learn about the design process from concept development to the final design.  

You will finish with a ready to use Egyptian book box. This fun activity is great for children's fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.

 

 

TURKEY WREATH

Duration: 2 hours

Time: 10.00am - 12.00pm

In this workshop, your teacher will guide you and demonstrate the step by step process in making a hanging Turkey Wreath. 

During the workshop, you will make a turkey bird and use assorted ribbons to decorate the wreath. You will need to bring your own scissors. You will learn about the design process from concept development to the final design.

You will finish with a hanging Turkey Wreath. This fun activity is great for children's fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.

 

 

VENETIAN MASK

In this workshop, your teacher will guide you and demonstrate the step by step process in making and designing a Venetian mask to keep. 

Venetian masks are a centuries-old tradition of Venice, Italy. The masks are known for their bright colours and complex decorations.

During the workshop, you will draw, paint and decorate the mask using glitter glue, cardboard and jingle bells. You will need to bring your own pencil, eraser, scissors and glue stick. You will learn about the design process from concept development to the final design. 

You will finish with a ready to wear Venetian mask. This fun activity is great for children's fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.

 

 

INDIAN DIYA LAMP & ELEPHANT SCULPTURE

Time: 10.00am - 12.00pm

In this workshop, your teacher will guide you and demonstrate the step by step process in making and designing an Indian Diya lamp and elephant sculpture. 

During the workshop, you will learn to work with air dry clay to sculpt a Diya lamp and make an elephant. You will learn about the design process from concept development to the final design. 

This fun activity is great for children's fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.

 

 

PEACOCK MASK & RANGOLI SAND PAINTING

In this workshop, your teacher will guide you and demonstrate the step by step process in making and designing a Peacock mask and painting with sand. 

During the workshop, you will paint and decorate the mask using sequin string and assorted feathers. You will learn about the design process from concept development to the final design. 

This fun activity is great for children's fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.

 

 

INDONESIAN DANCE MASK

Time: 10.00am - 12.00pm

This Indonesian dance mask was inspired by a traditional masked dance called Tari Topeng Losari from Cirebon, West Java.

In this workshop, your teacher will guide you and demonstrate step by step the process in making your own dance mask. You will need to bring your own pencil, eraser, scissors, glue stick and stapler.

During the workshop, you will:

  • Learn the creative process of making and decorating a dance mask
  • Gain experience working with various materials from air-dry clay, cardboard to yarn

You will finish the workshop with a ready to wear dance mask.This is great if you're looking for indoor activities with kids as it is fun and improves children's fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.

 

 

JEWEL CROWN

Duration: 2 hours

Time: 10.00am - 12.00pm

In this workshop, your teacher will guide you and demonstrate the step by step process in constructing a crown. You will need to bring your own scissors and stapler.

You will learn how to make crown jewels using glitter foam strips and smart fab fabric. Once you've made the base you'll be able to decorate your crown using colourful gemstones. You will finish the workshop with wearable crown jewels.

JAPANESE DOLL & KOINOBORI FISH FLAG

Time: 10.00am - 12.00pm

In this workshop, your teacher will guide you and demonstrate the step by step process in making a Japanese doll and painting a Koinobori fish flag. You will learn how to make a Japanese doll using decofoam, origami paper and cotton balls as well as paint and make a hanging Koinobori fish flag. You will need to bring your own pencil, eraser, black marker, colour pencils/crayons.

This fun activity is great for children's fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.

 

 

VIKING WARRIOR & HANGING WINTER CLOCHE

Time: 10.00am - 12.00pm

In this workshop, your teacher will guide you and demonstrate the step by step process in making a Viking warrior and a hanging winter cloche.

During the workshop, you will learn how to turn a wooden person into a Viking warrior using air dry clay and decorate a plastic cloche with a polar bear figurine and mini Christmas tree. You will learn about the design process from concept development to the final design.

This fun activity is great for children's fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.
