The NSW Government has put forward a $216 Million, four-year initiative that plans to make young children in school to get amongst and involved in creative and cultural activities.
Through the NSW Creative kids government page, parents, guardians and carers can easily claim a voucher for $100 per year that can be put toward the cost of fees and or lessons with registered Creative Kids Providers.
This is a great way for kids to learn new skills or find a new passion! The student must be aged between 4.5 to 18 years old, have a current current Medicare card and must be enrolled in school.
In response to COVID-19 the government has expanded the guidelines of the Creative Kids scheme in hope to keep kids creative. The Creative Kids Vouchers can now be used for digital programs, creative materials and co-curricular programs. This ensures that young people and children can keep connected to such creative learning actives while social distancing restrictions need to be maintained. Families who have limited access to the internet in regional and remote NSW can use these vouchers to pay for the cost of creative equipment and materials.
The Creative Kids voucher can be used for activities/materials up to $100. If the total expense is over $100, a co-payment would be required for any outstanding balance. If the activity is under $100, the activity will be fully covered by the voucher, no refund for the balance will be provided.

Craft Nation was born out of my passion for arts and craft. As a child, I remembered how much joy and happiness craft brought me.
Growing up in a multicultural society like Australia, I had the opportunity to experience and live among many cultures. How to apply for a Creative Kids voucher?
The process for applying and obtaining a Creative Kids Voucher is easy!
1. The applicant (parent, guardian or carer) needs to apply for the funding. This can be done online through this link: https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-creative-kids-voucher
or in person at any Service NSW centre. You must have a MyServiceNSW account and your child’s Medicare card details. (if you don’t have a MyServiceNSW account you can sign up after you select ‘Apply online’)
2. Once approved, you receive your voucher!.
